Who am I? Why should I engage the services of Bright and Beautiful? What experience do I have? What will set Bright & Beautiful apart as a business?
FLOWERS ARE MY PASSION
At last, I have found one word to describe how I
feel about flowers, my business, brides and creativity - MERAKI
Definition : may-rah-kee (prounounced may-rah-kee); Greek, adjective
To put "something of yourself" into what you're doing which, quite simply means, I love what I do. There is no English equivalent the word Meraki is, unsurprisingly, untranslatable.
Why should you engage the services of Bright and Beautiful?
We are a long established business doing flowers & decor for too many weddings to count! We are experienced dealing with venues, co-ordinators, various service providers and, of course, our clients. We are known in the industry for our attention to detail, commitment to working alongside our brides, within all realistic budgets, to create the day of their dreams. Our style can be best described as timeless, classic elegance.
Teamwork - without my incredible team nothing of what I do would be possible.
My right hand floral assistant, Joy has been in the industry for over 27
years. Brian, our driver collects everything from flowers to candles.
Anne, freelance floral assistant and who also does incredible
chalkboards. Nazeem, handyman - builds structures for hanging flower
arrangements, spray paints and so much more. Monique who does all our
floor layout plans, if required. Last but not least our transport and
set-up team headed by Wesley Japhta
Freelance assistant : Gabi van Niekerk
What training do I have?
I was lucky enough to be trained by Joan Pare (Constantia School of Floristry) who was a legend back in the day! Joan was a teacher, the owner of a local florist shop, author of a book on flowers and a prize-winning flower arranger. In the 1960s she met the English royal family after winning
prizes at the Chelsea Flower Show and was well known for her bouquet presentations to The Queen on many occasions. Although I did not pursue a career in floristry at that time I always maintained a love and interest in flower arranging. Joan taught me to have an affinity with nature and often, whilst out walking, I will collect bits of bark, pine cones, fallen branches and other interesting bits and pieces which find their way home to be used in arrangements.
I keep up my skill level by attending floral courses when ever I can, particularly in order to keep up with latest trends. All floral arrangements done by Bright and Beautiful for weddings and other occasions are created by qualified highly skilled floral designers.
What will set Bright and Beautiful apart as a business?
Passion for flowers is not enough. A solid team working together with our clients to create the day of their dreams. We work relentlessly alongside our couples in order to establish their vision and style. Through many years of experience we are able to guide couples as to how best they should use their budget to create maximum impact with florals and table decor. Only faultless service, faultless flowers and table settings are good enough. Our greatest reward is to exceed your expectations.
many times, expressed how proud I am to be part of what is an extremely
creative talent within the South African industry. There are so many
really amazing floral designers and, I believe, we each have our niche
in the market. Couples are able to peruse websites, facebook pages as
well as magazines to spot a style that resonates. Take your time to
look at our work. If you can, try and remember, that I am not just
doing a job. I pour my heart and soul into each wedding. I like to
feel comfortable with you and like you to feel comfortable with me!
MERAKI - I will leave a little piece of my soul, creativity and love in
my work because I pour my whole self into it. I hope that my love and
happiness shows in my work. I hope that the gracious being of my soul
shines through into my work.
