Alexandra & Brandon : Steenberg Golf Estate

Brandon and Alexandra were married on the 08^th November 2013 at St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, Newlands.

The large flower arrangement in the the church contained a candle in the centre and was surrounded by dephinimium, white lisianthus, white snapdragons. geralton wax, ivy, white avalanche roses and pennygum.

Alexandra looked beautiful in a Maggie Sottero dress and her bridesmaids were a picture in their royal blue dresses.

Each place setting was finished with a neatly folded table napkin containing a white avalanche rose and geralton wax neatly finished with a narrow royal blue ribbon.

Alexandra wanted to use blue and white as her colour scheme. As the reception was a sit down dinner we wanted it to be simple but stylish. Her favourite flower, hydrangeas, were unfortunately not going to be in bloom in early November but we took a “wait and see” approach and set about styling her tables. We chose a heavy white damask tablecloth, glass candelabra and I decided to embrace the use of blue by painting boxes (vases) in a light blue . As I didn’t want the blue to become too overwhelming I combined these with mirror boxes. Square and rectangular boxes were used to create different heights on the table.

Fabulous Flowers, Cavendish Square, Claremont assisted with the flower arrangements and Jose was responsible for the lovely bouquets for the bride and bridesmaids.

As no hydrangeas were available we decided to incorporated some amazing silk hydrangeas into the flower arrangements. We were lucky enough to obtain blue delphinium which complimented the blue of the “hydrangea”. The arrangements looked fresh and abundant - white avalanche roses, white lisianthus, white snapdragons, geralton wax, stocks, hydrangea and delphinium.

Alexandra and her sister, Catherine wanted to do their own stationery and created place names which were placed into tiny silver card holders as well as menus and seating plan cards.

Thank you for making Bright and Beautiful part of your special day. I enjoyed every moment of the planning. I know your Mom and Dad were looking down on everything and were so proud and happy.

A beautiful day with a beautiful bride, happy groom and so much love. It was wonderful to be part of Alexandra and Brandon's special day. Both Alexandra and her sister are musicians so the day was marked by a lot of music. Palm Springs (violin, guitar and double bass) played background music whilst guests enjoyed pre-dinner drinks and canapes and Michael Stuppel played the grand piano hired especially for the occasion during the reception. So special.

No wedding is complete without a cake. Alexandra wanted something simple but scrummy and Katherine from Sugar and Slice made a delicious lemon cake. We finished the cake with fresh flowers and I really think the end result was awesome.
