Robyn & James : Hidden Valley

A beautiful Cape summer's day at the stunning Hidden Valley Wine Farm, Stellenbosch, a gorgeous bride and dashing groom, award winning food (Bertus Basson, Avontuur), family, friends, love and laughter a perfect formula for your wedding day. Hidden Valley is a stunning venue situated in a valley surrounded by the Helderberg mountains and olive groves.

James & Robyn had their ceremony overlooking the dam. As the location is so picturesque decor was kept clean and simple. Anticipating that we would have a hot day at the beginning of February we placed a lot of emphasis on making sure that guests were well shaded and comfortable. Ladies were greeted with white parasols and the gentlemen with white panama hats. Sun screen was available and ice cold, lemon infused hand towels available for guests to mop their brows!

The bridesmaids dressed in coral and white added a spash of colour to the surroundings as they walked down the aisle followed by Robyn looking absolutely radiant and stunning in her Robin Roberts designed wedding gown.

After the ceremony guests enjoyed pre-dinner drinks and canapes whilst watching the sun slowly slipping behind the moutains.

Robyn wanted her flowers and decor to be soft, gentle, romantic and, well, just simply beautiful. In line with fine dining we kept everything elegant. Flower arrangements of white hydrangeas, white, coral and peach roses, white lisianthus, white snapdragons, veronica and gypsophila were arranged in a selection of white ceramic and glass vases. Masses of floating candles in glass cylinder candle holders and square glass t-lite votives added the finishing touches.

Guests enjoyed excellent food, lively speeches and a very professional first dance before joining the couple on the dance floor to party the night away.

It was a pleasure working alongside Alda, the co-ordinator at Hidden Valley and Abby Anderson Photographer who captured every moment of the wedding so superbly. Most importantly, I loved working with Robyn and James putting together their special day.
