Shelley and Clinton's Wedding : Strandkombuis

I only met Shelley and Clinton a week before their wedding day, as they currently live in the UK.  We had very successfully negotiated flower ideas via e-mail.

Shelley gave me a very good idea of what she wanted in the form of a brief and pictures of flowers that she liked.  It makes life a lot easier when brides have a clear vision.  It was not going to be possible for us to sit down and chat about everything.  Over several months we discussed a few ideas and without much ado settled on what we thought would work best.  Simple, mainly white flowers, informal arrangements, uncluttered and casual.  We used white avalanche roses, white lisianthus, dessert roses (succulents), slangbos, gypsophila, white snapdragons and pennygum.  Proteas were added to her bouquet.

I played a small part as family were involved with so many aspects of the wedding decor.  Shelley's mom made all the bunting and table number flags and there was a multitude of special touches everywhere. It was wonderful seeing everything coming together and set-up was special as I got to meet  family and friends involved in making Clinton and Shelley's day special.  We all worked side by side transforming the reception area.

Clinton and Shelley got everything so very, very right for a wedding at Strandkombuis.  Bride, bridesmaids, groom and bestmens apparel was spot on for a seaside celebration. The colour scheme was perfect and I loved the smart casual look. The special day was captured by Carien & Lize from Love Light Photography and the pictures are just amazing.  The colours all blend together so well and the light in the pictures is incredible.  Picture book perfect.

A special thank you to Carien who was so accommodating sending me downsized photographs for this blog post.
